Since 1999, CSDA has provided the Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA) with support for their Residential Soundproofing Program. This program provides
for the installation of acoustic modifications to homes adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the Van Nuys Airport to lessen
the effects of aircraft noise. Funded by LAWA, more than 9,000 homes with a recorded Community Noise Equivalent Level (CNEL) of 65 decibels (dB)
are eligible to participate in this strictly voluntary program that results in noise modifications with no cost to the homeowner. CSDA provides
acoustical, architectural design, hazmat, mechanical/electrical design, community outreach, and construction administration services for the program.
To date, CSDA is providing this support for more than 2700 single and multi-family homes.
