NEW BRIGHTON MIDDLE SCHOOL
MULTI-USE BUILDING & CENTRAL KITCHEN FACILITY

Capitola, CA

Soquel Union Elementary School District

CSDA recently designed a new combined multi-use building and central kitchen facility to serve both an elementary school and the Soquel Union Elementary School District at large. With maximum flexibility in mind, CSDA Architects designed the 10,270-SF multi-use building to include a 1,150-SF stage with seating capacity for 800 occupants. Configured with retractable tables, the building also seats over 400 students during lunchtime. The modern 2,000-SF central kitchen allows for the preparation, serving, and packaging of food for all of the schools within the District. By combining the multi-use building with the central kitchen into one facility, overall construction costs were lowered and the campus circulation patterns were improved. The facility will be constructed in 2006 at an estimated cost of $5,525,000.
