The new 17,000 sf Mary Ann and Jack Gibbons Music Building is a three-story structure strategically placed at the confluence of various campus circulation paths and uses. This major addition to the campus includes a choral room, general classrooms, batting cages and weight room. The project is broken up into distinct building parts which emphasize pedestrian interaction and circulation between the buildings. This allows for a dramatic stairway to cascade from an upper plaza deck down to the athletic fields creating a gateway between the academic and athletic areas. The plaza deck will act as a major gathering space providing a great vantage point for athletic events and for views of the ocean.
